Karla Castillo is a digital reporter at Telemundo Central Texas in Waco, Texas. She was born and raised in Houston. She attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism.
Her passion for being a reporter began shortly after Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area, after seeing the vulnerability of many reporters on live television, she wanted to do the same and help the community. She became involved in organizations in college, which led to an internship at CBS News Texas in Fort Worth, Texas. She began her career as a multimedia journalist and morning reporter at our sister station KPLC in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
