Dan Threlkeld

Dan Threlkeld is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who co-anchors Good Morning Texoma. A proud Army Veteran with over two decades of service, Dan is excited to bring his leadership experience and passion for storytelling to the morning news.

Dan's love for broadcasting started in high school, where he called various sports, served as a DJ, and co-hosted a simulcast sports show on his school’s radio and TV stations; 91.3-WHJE and CHTV. He even briefly majored in telecommunications in college before switching majors, but his passion for news and connecting with people never faded.

Before joining KSWO, Dan served over 26 years in the military where he spent time as an Enlisted Infantryman in the National Guard and as an Active Duty Field Artillery Officer. His military career involved numerous jobs including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and an operational rotation to the Republic of Korea. Dan finished his military career as the Battalion Commander of 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment followed by a final assignment as the Director of the Commander’s Planning Group at the Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill.

Dan is actively involved in the Lawton community, supporting the Lawton High School Band Boosters, participating in the STEM Consortium to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in the community, and volunteering at Dayspring Church, where he runs sound for the Worship Team.

When he’s not on air, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Bethany, and their two sons. He also loves supporting local events and advocating for Veterans and military families. Have a story idea? Email Dan at daniel.threlkeld@kswo.com
